Job Type: Part-time, Intern to Entry-Level

About YANA:

The YANA Wellness and Creativity Center - Cannabis Dispensary, is a Woman, Asian, LGBTQ+, & Black owned business dedicated to empowering the Washington, DC creative community. We provide a range of services from wellness therapies to creative workshops and have an in-house content studio built for various cutting-edge multimedia projects.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Program Manager and Content Coordinator, Podcast Studio to take the helm of our content studio. This role is ideal for a passionate, innovative, young professional, preferably a college student or recent graduate, eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant creative scene of Washington, DC. The individual will manage our state-of-the-art studio, designed for podcasting, radio shows, music recording, video, and photo shoots. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and business acumen, particularly in the cannabis industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.     Studio Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the studio.

  • Ensure the studio is properly equipped and maintained for various types of content production.

  • Provide technical support for audio and video needs.

2.     Content Programming and Scheduling:

  • Develop and implement a schedule to maximize studio use.

  • Coordinate with local artists, podcasters, and creatives for studio bookings.

  • Manage studio bookings and ensure a seamless experience for clients.

3.     Networking and Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with the local creative community.

  • Identify and collaborate with emerging talents in the DC area.

  • Foster diversity and inclusion in studio usage and content production.

4.     Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop strategies to promote the studio and its services.

  • Create engaging content to showcase the studio’s capabilities and achievements.

  • Utilize digital marketing tools and social media to enhance the studio's visibility.

5.     Supporting Role:

  • Assist Ariana Tokes and other team members with various projects and tasks.

  • Contribute to the broader objectives of YANA.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passionate about content creation, particularly in podcasting and multimedia production.

  • Basic knowledge of audio and video equipment and editing software

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Creativity and ability to develop innovative content ideas.

  • Familiarity with the cannabis industry and its dynamics.

  • Commitment to diversity and equity in creative spaces.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the studio.

  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to the creative community.

Additional Technical Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Audio Production:

    • Proficiency in audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Logic Pro X.

  • Experience with sound mixing, mastering, and audio restoration.

    • Video Production:

    • Skilled in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

    • Understanding of lighting techniques and camera operation for video shoots.

  • Graphic Design:

    • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for creating promotional materials and episode graphics.

  • Digital Marketing:

    • Proficiency in using social media platforms for promotion (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).

    • Knowledge of digital marketing tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or Buffer for tracking engagement and performance.

  • Project Management:

    • Experience with project management tools such as Trello, Asana, or Monday.com to organize and track studio bookings and projects.

  • Technical Equipment:

    • Knowledge of studio equipment such as microphones, mixers, recorders, and cameras.

    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with studio equipment.

  • Content Management Systems (CMS):

    • Familiarity with CMS for website updates and podcast hosting platforms.

  • Podcast Distribution:

    • Understanding of podcast distribution platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.

  • Networking and Collaboration:

    • Ability to use networking tools such as LinkedIn and Instagram for outreach and collaboration with local talent.

  • Data Analysis:

    • Basic skills in data analysis for evaluating studio usage patterns and content performance.
